For the last seven years, he has focused on his work as a user interface designer and front-end programmer, creating clean and elegant solutions for his clients.

Michael Enslow has over ten years experience working across many different technologies. He has worked on small business applications such as Web 2.0, Social Media and E-commerce websites. He has also worked on enterprise logistics, financial, legal and wireless applications. His current focus is leading web development with agile development teams.

The City Reliquary

Overview

A non-profit community organization, The City Reliquary needed a site that would communicate their message of connecting visitors to both the past and present of New York. It was also important that the site was easy to maintain by its volunteers.

Solution

We designed a custom implementation of WordPress to handle many of the features that they required. A specialized homepage was designed with various feeds from within the site to allow visitors an overview of events, news and exhibitions.

Localnext

Overview

An application built on the Google Maps API, Localnext needed an intuitive interface so that users to navigate through many categories of real-time, social events.

Solution

We designed a fluid navigation system that allows users to customize their results using jQuery UI and Ajax elements. With UX in mind we developed a series of overlay dialog boxes for saving events and sharing them with their peers. We also designed an iPhone interface for the application.

Citiology

Overview

Citiology is an invite only, dinning and going out social network for NYC insiders. The website balances exclusive search results along side rich user profiles and reviews.

Solution

We started by consulting our client on how to integrate real-time reviews from their community with their exclusive content. We then worked with their internal development team to create a user interface framework that allows for the rapid production of pages as the site grows.

Khaya Cookies

Overview

An artisan cookie company, Khaya Cookies has always dedicated itself to providing jobs to local workers in South Africa. They wanted to promote a contest that would offer prizes and utilize social media to further the message of the company.

Solution

We designed and developed a mini-site that allowed users to enter the contest and receive a promotional code to be shared with the peers via social networking. The site also allowed contestants to view their standings throughout the duration of the contest.

Hare+Hart

Overview

Hare+Hart is a design label specializing in cruelty-free sourced leather goods from Argentina. They needed press and wholesale preview website to showcase their Fall 2010 catalog.

Solution

Along with providing design services for Hare+Hart, we also created a custom WordPress solution that extends their user roles in order to provide a B2B preview site for wholesale and press users. Hare+Hart can create product catalogs that only wholesale and press users can preview.

The Hired Guns

Overview

The Hired Guns is a new king of talent agency that staffs creative professionals in the “Post-Corporate Economy”. The Hired Guns approached Mister Machine in Winter 2009 to create an automated gig application process for their corporate web site.

Solution

Using PHP and SOAP, we created a custom WordPress plugin that provides an interface for users to apply to jobs listed on thehiredguns.com. The user’s application is fed into The Hired Guns CRM system and a job submission order is created.

Farai Chideya

Overview

Farai Chideya is an award-winning author, journalist and new media expert. She approached Mister Machine to redesign her personal site faraichideya.com site and popandpolitics.com one of the longest continuously operating blogs on the net.

Solution

We redesigned Farai’s site to act as portal to display and organize her past work, as well as provide her with a blog that allows her to access the benefits of current social networking tools. popandpolitics.com was redesigned to be a more current platform for social justice.

LIVE! On Sunset

Overview

LIVE! On Sunset, an LA based, urban clothing store, wanted to create an interactive e-commerce shopping experience that marketed their clothing through high-end fashion video.

Solution

We worked with Diversion Media, LLC to provide technical project management for a distributed development team and provided front-end design and development services for the project. liveonsunset.com was developed using Ruby On Rails and integrates with the Shopify (e-commerce) and Ooyala Backlog (video CMS) APIs.

Overview

An art fabrication company in Brooklyn, NY, New Project needed a site that would showcase their work with high-end clients such as the New York MET and MOMA as well as document the complexity of their services.

We utilized WordPress as a CMS, that allows New Project to manage the content of newproject.cc including the ability to customize several online galleries that showcase the variety of services they offer.
